Ringing in the new year at Rotterdam Square New Year’s Reception

On Thursday, January 23, we celebrated the start of 2025! Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Rotterdam Square New Year’s Reception at Erasmus MC - it was a pleasure seeing the network come together again and valuable connections being made. We were also very excited to welcome companies Phospho and InVitria on stage to celebrate their recent establishment in Rotterdam.

Health~Holland funds innovation program ‘WorkTech’
|
Health~Holland is funding the healthcare innovation program ‘WorkTech – Labor-Saving Innovations for Health and Care’ for one year. This program focuses on addressing workforce shortages in health, well-being, and care through labor-saving innovations and is led by Medical Delta, InnovationQuarter, and ZWconnect.

Erasmus MC spin-off oncoChem participates in Venture Challenge Winter 2025
|
Six teams have started the Venture Challenge Winter 2024, of which one spin-off from Erasmus MC and the Erasmus MC TTO: oncoChem. Based on a novel family of compounds developed at Erasmus MC, this venture will translate these into imaging probes that can be used to see malignant tumours during diagnosis and surgery, and into therapeutics for the treatment of cancer.

Rotterdam collaborates in European project to tackle health challenges
|
From January 7 to 9, 2025, Rotterdam hosted inspiring workshops and a seminar as part of the European project Healthy Regions 4 All (HR4ALL). This collaborative initiative, under the Kansen voor West program, brings together seven European partners to address a shared challenge: tackling overweight and obesity.

The Erasmus MC AI Accelerator has launched
|
Thursday, January 23, 2025, marked the official kick-off of the Erasmus MC AI Accelerator. Dr. Michel van Genderen: "The technological development of AI is advancing at a rapid pace. This compels us to collaborate more effectively and accelerate the responsible implementation of AI. That is exactly what the AI Accelerator aims to contribute to."

Jeroen Wilschut, Interventional Cardiologist Erasmus MC & co-founder Kingfisher

"Hi, I’m Jeroen Wilschut, Interventional Cardiologist here at Erasmus MC since 2016.
Kingfisher is a MedTech company (Erasmus MC spin-off, ed.) dedicated to better health and healthcare, by improving the placement accuracy of heart stents. In 2024, I connected with MedTech developer Willem Mees van der Bijl. We decided to partner up to professionalize the prototyping and investigate if we could bring this invention to the market. Now, at the beginning of 2025, things look good."
